Haddo House is the venue for a special event this Sunday (September 14).

It is hosting a antique valuation day, being organised by supporters of the National Trust for Scotland to raise funds to help conserve local heritage.

Speaking for the North East Members’ Centre, Margaret Alexander, who is a Trustee, said: “For anyone who is interested in the past and our shared heritage, this promises to be a fascinating day out.

“Five expert valuers from Lyon & Turnbull, Scotland’s oldest firm of auctioneers, will be on hand to offer professional advice on any antiques you wish to bring along.

“They will be able give advice and values on jewellery, silver, paintings, books & manuscripts, ceramics, clocks and other antiques”

“If you have a family heirloom or a collectable that you’ve always wondered about, this is your chance to have up to two items evaluated for the princely donation of £5.”

All money raised on the day will be ploughed back into caring for local attractions like Pitmedden Garden, Fyvie Castle and Haddo House itself.

The North East Members’ Centre is run by NTS members for members.
