ROTARIANS are encouraging local residents to take part in a free blood pressure check taking part on Saturday, April 28 at the Kirk Centre.
The event - which runs between 9.30am and 12pm is supported by the stroke association and Ellon Rotary, and aims to highlight the potential dangers of high blood pressure to those in attendance.
Rotarian Fred Watson told the Times: “The event will be staffed by health professionals and is a very important service to our community. Anyone from the Ellon catchment area who has not had their blood pressure checked for some time is welcome to attend. 40% of strokes could be avoided if high blood pressure was controlled -anyone found over a certain limit will be advised to make an appointment with their doctor.”
