Organisers of Newburgh Gala are hailing the success of last Saturday’s event.

The weather stayed dry and there was strong support from the local community for a packed programme of activities at the school playing field.

The gala day featured a choice of events for all ages including a Castle Canter fun run, archery, football and netball tournaments, owl display, children’s races and
various stalls.

A delighted chairman Mark Walker said: “I would like to thank everyone involved on the day and all the efforts in the lead up to the second Newburgh Gala. The committee and volunteers have done
themselves proud.

“The purpose is to bring the community together with the focus being to cover our costs going into the event.

“We achieved this again this year and hopefully will provide a great start to the 2015 event and the committee who will hopefully take on the preparations for next year.”
