The Garioch Art Group are currently hosting their annual Art Exhibition in Inverurie Town Hall.

Pictured are Jenny Stuart and Sheena Farquhar who are among the artists and volunteers.

Sheena is currently chair of the group and said: “We had a super preview evening on Friday and a few of the exhibits have already been purchased which we are delighted about.

“The exhibition runs until Saturday, August 15, when we will announce “the People’s Choice”, the favourite piece of art as voted by the public and we have some works which we are raffling too.”

The Garioch Art Group are a self-help group with no formal tuition, although they have occasional speakers and workshops once a month to try different painting techniques.

They meet in the Garioch Community Centre on Thursday evenings between 7pm and 9.45pm.

There is an annual subscription of £10 plus £2 (£1.25 concession) payable to the Community Centre when you attend.

No expertise required, just the desire to “dabble in paining and enjoy the company and help of like-minded folk, a cuppa and a chat”.

Those interested joining the group or need further details can contact Sheena Farquharson on (01467) 632584, Maggie Emslie on (01467) 623376 or Jill Betts on (01467) 620239.
