FAMILIES, individuals and businesses are all being encouraged to get on their bikes this Spring to take part in the Aden Bike Challenge.
This year’s event takes place on Sunday, March 10, and will take in some of the most beautiful sights in the local Buchan area.
The challenge is a scenic ten-mile trail which will start from the community centre in Peterhead, along the Formartine and Buchan Way, ending in the beautiful surrounds of Aden Coutnry Park in Mintlaw.
A predominantly traffic-free cycle route, the event is suitable for everyone, regarding of biking experience or fitness.
On arrival at Aden Country Park, each participant will receive a medal, goody bag, certificate and a warm welcome.
There will be a celebratory atmosphere in the park, which will include a wide range of activities, facilities and entertainment including an amazing bike roadshow, circus skills, a Mother’s Day country fair, rural life heritage fair, stalls, music, performance and access to the award-winning Aberdeenshire Farming Museu, cafe and craft and gift shop.
The Aden Bike Challenge is programmed to be part of this year’s Buchan Feeling Good Festival, promoting health and wellbeing and the benefits of cycling as a sociable and active way to improve physical health and mental health in the Buchan area.
Event participants can register online by visiting adencountrypark.org.uk or on the day at the start line at Peterhead community centre.
Registration runs from 9.30am to 12noon and entry is £6 per adult and £3 for those under 17.
