Glass insight for ladies

Newburgh SWI president Jean Robertson welcomed members and guests to the October meeting and introduced guest speaker Linsey Gibb.

She designs stained glass products in her home in Insch, where she also runs a class in her studio for folk wanting to learn the craft.

Mrs Gibb has designed one of the windows in Fyvie Kirk and spoke of the history of this ancient craft. After tea, business matters were completed and competition winners were announced as follows:

Prettiest Glass Ornament: 1 Mrs S Lister; 2 Mrs M Singer; 3 Mrs S Edwards

Handmade Christmas card: 1 Mrs S Edwards; 2 Mrs M Singer; 3 Mrs M Chandler

The next meeting will be on November 3 at 7.30pm in Newburgh Public Hall. It will feature a talk on Aberdeen Harbour by Colin Parker.
