A local charity which runs The Sand Bothy at Balmedie Country Park has received a £1,000 grant from the St. James’s Place Foundation.

The Belhelvie Community Trust received the money from the charity arm of St. James’s Place Wealth Management who offer financial advice to individuals, trustees and businesses.

Sand Bothy volunteers Diane Sleith Gillespie, Morag Ross, Pete Buchanan and Annie Grant met with Steven Mathieson, Director of Mathieson Financial Services Ltd, a representative of St. James’s Place Wealth Management at The Sand Bothy Community Fun Day on September 17.

Diane said: “We are absolutely thrilled to receive this donation because it will help us buy some IT equipment, this means community groups, educational groups and organisations can now share presentations digitally as part of the activities hosted at The Sand Bothy.”

Steven said: “We have known Annie for a long time now and I wanted to support her work in the charity, given she works as hard as anyone I know for such a good cause.

“It will be great to see things develop with our donation.”
