Aberdeenshire East MSP Gillian Martin has welcomed the renewal of Green Flag status for Haddo Country Park.
Haddo Country Park was one of 73 parks across Scotland to receive the international benchmark of a quality park or green space by an environmental status.
It means the park joins more than 1,700 across the UK and as far afield as New Zealand, Finland and Germany with the accolade.
Green Flag Award winning parks and open spaces are judged against eight strict criteria including how well maintained and clean they are, if the heritage is promoted and conserved and whether the local community is involved.
Aberdeenshire East MSP Gillian Martin said: “It is really important we have open spaces which can be visited by individuals and families.
“Parks and open spaces are a brilliant asset and are free to use and provide opportunities to socialise and to exercise.
“I would like to congratulate the staff and everyone at Aberdeenshire Council who works so hard to maintain Haddo Country Park to the highest standard.”
