An Ellon boy was among a group of youngsters who recently enjoyed a taste of life on a dairy farm.

Gregor Aiken, 7, took part in Graham The Family Dairy’s 2015 Children’s tasting panel at Bridge of Allan.

Scotland’s leading independent family dairy launched the event in 2013 in a bid to help educate youngsters on food and life on a working farm.

Gregor was selected as a new products picker.

Following a tour of the farm, the group got down to the business of tasting Graham’s award-winning butter, cream, cheese, ice cream and milk before heading home with various products and a certificate.

Carol Graham, Graham’s marketing director, said: “The children were engaged during every aspect of the day and we hope their experience has increased their understanding of where their food comes from.

“The visit was just the start of their tasting panel journey as our new panel tasters have now been tasked to send us their ideas for products and recipes on a quarterly basis as part of their role.

“The children will also be one of the first to sample new products as they are launched so their feedback will be really important to us.”
