A series of building improvements to Haddo Country Park have been approved, following a meeting of local councillors at the Formartine Area Committee.
Planning permission was granted for the restoration and refurbishment of the Pheasantry; a new play and picnic area and the erection of a public shelter; re-instatement of the Kelly Burn Bridge; the upgrading of the car park at Craigie Wood, along with the restoration of a dry stone wall, erection of cycle racks and signage and associated landscaping.
In recommending approval, officials noted that the Pheasantry was a well known roosting location for bats. As such, a bat survey would have to be carried out before any consent could be issued.
Councillors agreed to pass the planning permission without the need for a vote. Speaking afterwards committee chair Cllr John Loveday said: “The committee was very pleased to support these applications, which will allow important works to proceed that will protect these important buildings and provide new attractions for visitors to the venue.”
