Ellon district nursing sister Betty Murray got a rousing send-off from colleagues when she retired last Friday.

Betty, who had been based at the health centre for 13 years, joined the health service in 1970.

She trained in Aberdeen and worked at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Betty said: “I have seen many changes over the years and you have to adapt.

“I have mixed feelings about leaving. I have absolutely loved being in Ellon and they are a great district nursing team here and I will miss them. However, I have seven grandchildren and I’m looking forward to spending more time with them.”

Betty will take up a part-time job at Oldmeldrum Health Centre later in the year.
