A NEW DEER couple, who have just celebrated their golden wedding, have donated £1,300 to the coronary care unit at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary.

Albert and Ethel Brown wanted to support the unit after he received treatment for blocked arteries in May, 2009.

Mr Brown, a retired farmer, said: “I’ve felt much better ever since and we’re very grateful to cardiologist Dr Andrew Hannah and his team for their excellent care.”

The couple decided to ask friends and family to donate to the unit, instead of giving presents for their golden wedding anniversary.

Senior Charge Nurse Elaine Slattery said, “We are all extremely grateful for the Browns’ very generous donation, which will be used to enhance patients’ comfort and wellbeing in the unit.”
