Holiday talk at Auchnagatt

Caroline Harlow welcomed Kathleen and Sandy Thom to Auchnagatt SWI to speak about their eight-week holiday to Australia and New Zealand two years ago.

They started in Adelaide, continued to Brisbane and then flew to Sydney before flying to New Zealand and then home.

Along the way there were many adventures and amazing hospitality from many friends who were delighted to

return hospitality they had received from the Thoms in Scotland.

Members heard many interesting stories about the Australian wildlife which included koalas, crocodiles, kangaroos, snakes and spiders plus poisonous toads in the back garden.

The ladies all enjoyed a welcome cup of tea, after which the competitions were judged by Kathleen and

Sandy: Christmas Card 1 Barbara Rogers; 2 Christina; 3 Caroline Harlow; Pretty Tea Light 1 Susan McLaren;m 2 Helen Thomson; 3 Rosaline Smith. Flower of the Month: 1 Sally Cole; 2 Isobel Dickie; 3 Rosaline Smith.

Caroline Harlow gave the vote of thanks and Rosaline Smith, having conducted the business, thanked everyone for a most enjoyable evening.

The next meeting is the Christmas meal at Crichie Inn, Stuartfield, on the December 10. All members and visitors welcome – contact 01358 701224 for details.
