An Oldmeldrum student has picked up an industry prize for his academic achievements during his postgraduate degree at Robert Gordon University.

Kristian Low, who is also celebrating graduating with distinction, was awarded the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) prize at a special ceremony held by RGU’s Scott Sutherland School of Architecture and Built Environment recently.

Kristian, who is originally from West Sussex but has been living in Oldmeldrum for over a decade, said: “I feel that it’s a prize for my family, as well as me, as they supported me through a busy and difficult year. I felt that I had to produce outstanding work to compete with the younger students on my course.

“To have won a prize on top of the great results I got is very flattering and I’m grateful to the lecturers and supervisors that helped me achieve as much as I did. My class-mates were a great help too, giving motivation and assistance where it was needed!”

Kristian added: “The most challenging thing was doing full-time work around the full-time degree, as well as having four children at home at the same time.

“Basically, my life during the past year was very busy and everything had to be planned and organised carefully.
