Esslemont SWI president Helen Smillie opened the meeting by welcoming all members and visitors to the Annual Basket Whist and Domino’s evening.

The results of the games were as follows:

Yellow winner - Ms Betty Cummings, consolation - Mr Jim Forbes.

Blue winner - Ms Nessie Montgomery, consolation - Ms Eileen Sutherland.

Pink winner - Ms Flo Walker, consolation - Ms Elsie Davidson.

White winner - Mr Frank Alexander, consolation - Mr Cecil Craig.

Domino winner - Ms Janet Simpson, consolation - Ms Annie Paterson.

Games were followed by basket supper and raffle and presentations.

Helen Smillie thanked everyone for their support and wished all a safe journey home.

Kintore SWI president Ann Marston opened the November meeting and welcomed ladies from Lyne of Skene SWI.

They entertained everyone with a jewellery demonstration, a guess the location quiz, a floral Christmas decoration, pass the parcel and a Doric poem.

The ladies kindly judged the competitions:

Cosy knitted scarf: 1 Betty Heron, 2 Wilma Smith, 3 Bella Morrison.

Flower of the Month: 1 Betty Heron, 2 Margaret Sim, 3 Janet Forrest.

Three squares of coconut Ice: 1 Mabel Coutts , 2 Ann Marston.

Clootie Dumpling: 1st Margaret Farquharson, 2nd Betty Heron

Tea was served by Gladys Duguid and hostesses.

After the raffles were drawn and vote of thanks given the meeting closed.

The next meeting is on December 1 with a talk on First Responders by David Gauld.
