An Auchmacoy Estate worker has received recognition of his 40 years of service at a presentation recently.
Bill Parley received his award at the estate’sannual Burns/Harvest supper which was attended by former and current members of staff.
Nearly 50 people turned out for the event.
Bill was presented The Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland 40 years long service award by Mr Christopher Shepherd (Director with the Royal Highland and Agricultural Society of Scotland) and Laird of Auchmacoy EstateCharles Buchan.
After receiving his award, Bill told the Times: “It was excellent to receive the recognition - it can’t be too bad working here as I’ve stuck at it for forty years!”
The sprayer/operator comes to retiring age by September but has no plans to stop doing what he enjoys.
He added: “I’ll maybe slow down a bit, but I have no plans for retirement just yet.”
