Academy girl to shave head for Comic Relief

A BIG-HEARTED Ellon Academy pupil is getting set for life without her hair, after committing to have it shaved off in aid of charity.

13-year old Ruby Edwards said that she would be raising money for Comic Relief through the event, on March 13.

Speaking to the Times, she said: “I was inspired by Jessie J doing the same thing, and thought it would be a good idea.”

As well as donating her sponsorship earnings to Comic Relief, Ruby added that she would be donating the useable hair to the Little Princess Trust.

“The people at Little Princess will be able to turn the hair into a wig for a young girl with cancer, so it won’t be going to waste,” she said.

“I am really nervous about it, but it’s for a good cause and I’ve had a lot of support.”
