PUPILS at Ardallie celebrated last week after winning a £500 voucher to be spent on sports equipment at the school.

The voucher was handed over as part of the Bank of Scotland’s National School Sport Week, which saw schools enter a draw to win funding for sports equipment in celebration of the 2012 Olympics.

National School Sport Week which is delivered in partnership with sportscotland – the national agency for sport - encouraging pupils to take part in more sport.

Ellon branch counter manager Andre Diether presented the cheque last week, with visiting PE teacher Kathleen Madigan accepting the cheque on behalf of the school.

Andre told the Times: “A good percentage of people involved with the school showed an interest and an enthusiasm for being part of National School Sports Week, so Ardallie was one of our winners.”
