A four-year-old boy has been taken to hospital after being struck by a vehicle in Pitmedden.

The accident happened on the B999 in the village shortly before 11.30am today.

Police said the child had been taken by ambulance to Royal Aberdeen Children’s Hospital and the road will be closed to allow investigations to take place. Local diversions are in place.

The extent of the boy’s injuries is unknown at this stage.
