North-east bakers have been urged to bake their best cakes this year and help raise money for charity in the process.
This year’s delicious Breakthrough Bake Off day is officially on October 17 but events can be organised on any day of the year at any location.
If you decide to hold a bake sale in the boardroom, a competition in the kitchen or scrumptious snacks at school, the most important aspect is that everyone is involved and helps raise funds.
Taking part couldn’t be simpler, all you have to do is get together with your friends, family and colleagues to share some home-baked goodies and raise some cash.
Head Baker for the Breakthrough Bake Off, Georgia Bridgwood, said: “It’s heart-breaking that 1,000 UK women die from breast cancer each month – this is why Breakthrough Breast Cancer’s work is so vital. If we don’t act now, today, more and more families will face a future without the women they love, so please – for the women you love, sign up today and help us beat breast cancer for good.”
