Ellon’s annual Doggie Christmas Party has provided a boost for the Scottish SPCA.

Around £200 was raised from the event which was held in the town’s Victoria Hall.

Organiser Myra Stewart presented the proceeds to Scottish SPCA Animal Rescue Officer Karen Hogg.

Karen said: “It was incredibly kind of Myra to raise these vital funds for us and her support is greatly appreciated.

“As we don’t receive any Government or lottery funding, we rely on the generosity of the public to help us rescue thousands of unwanted, abused and abandoned animals each year.

“We’d like to say a huge thank you to Myra for this incredibly kind gesture, which will make a real difference to the lives of the animals in our care.”

It was the 21st pooches party and 20 dogs took part in the festive capers on Wednesday, December 12.

Myra said the party had been a great success and there had been a few new faces at the event, which they welcomed.
