Caravanette blaze at Balmedie

Firefighters have dealt with a blaze in a caravanette at Balmedie this afternoon.

It broke out in the vehicle which was parked in the village’s Eigie Avenue.

Firefighters were called to the scene at 1.10pm and brought the outbreak under control in about an hour.

The caravanette was in the driveway of a house - no one was injured.

An eyewitness said he had been outside when he heard crackling.

He added: “I saw it was on fire, so I got my hose and bucket but it did not make much difference.”

The caravanette sustained smashed windows and damage to the rear.

The occupants of the house were not at home when the fire broke out.
