An Ellon dog trainer handed over a cheque from the money she raised at her festive dogs party.

Myra Stewart, who runs regular obedience classes for dogs in the town, held her annual doggies Christmas party recently.

The party, which saw her raise around £300, was particularly meaningful to Myra. After her sister died from a stroke last year and spent months in hospital, she decided to raise the funds for the Aberdeen stroke unit.

Myra presented the cheque to senior staff nurse, Sheena and Jacqui of the Stroke Unit at Aberdeen City Hospital, along with Alison and Ben from Therapet and patient John.
