Hundreds of pounds for Neo-natal Unit
TWO big-hearted Ellon police officers have raised more than £500 for Aberdeen Royal Infirmary’s Neo-natal Unit.
Constables Lesley Ritchie and Jennifer Cordiner decided to raise the money after learning that an Ellon-based colleague had become the father of premature twins.
The pair decided to hold a raffle to raise money for the facility.
Constable Ritchie said: “We decided to raise the funds after hearing that the staff at the Neo Natal Unit was looking after a colleague’s and other’s newly born babies.
“I approached several local businesses and was delighted to received raffle prizes from them. We raffled them at Ellon Police Office and beyond and raised £500 in total which will go to the unit later in the year.”
Constable Cordiner added: “We would like to thank ‘Rambo’s Tyre Services, Ellon’, the Raemoir House Hotel, the Milton Restaurant at Crathes, the Therapy Room, Ellon, Brew Dog, Ellon, Best Wishes, Ellon, Costcutter, Ellon, Cup Cakes and Crafts, Ellon, Bon Bon, Peterhead ad Add Latent Ltd, Aberdeen, for their very kind and generous donations.
“It was a very worthwhile cause, as the unit makes such a difference to the lives of those admitted.”
