Staff at a North-east housebuilders have clocked up an amazing 1040 years’ service.

Two employees at Barratt Homes East Scotland have completed 45 years each, while others have reached 20 or more.

The staff were recognised for their sterling work at a recent presentation of long service awards in Ellon.

Jim Cruickshank, from Ellon, has retired after 45 years as a site worker with the firm. Originally from Huntly, he moved to Ellon and joined Barratts in 1968.

Tributes to his service were paid at the event on Thursday, December 20, at the New Inn Hotel.

Both Jim and his wife, Margaret, received presentations from Barratts and members of staff.

During his retirement, he is hoping to play more golf and has received life membership at Newburgh.

Another employee, Derek Lawrence, from Ellon, has also completed 45 years with the company, but is not retiring.

Awards were also made to eight employees with 40 years service, 11 with 35 years, three with 30 years, three with 25 years and four with 20 years
