After a concerted fundraising effort, Market Place School PTA were able to see their new play equipment in action last week during the school’s Annual Summer Fayre in the school grounds.
With support of a grant of £4,500 from the National Lottery “Awards for All” scheme the PTA raised more than £6,000 for the play equipment which has been a big hit with pupils at the school.
Commenting on the new equipment, Fiona Clegg of the PTA said: “We are really pleased with the new equipment which will serve generations to come and has proved to be an instant success with the pupils here.
“Last Friday’s Fayre was yet another great success, aided by our friends from Round Table who manned the barbecue stand which was extremely popular selling out all 300 of the burgers from Davidsons Specialist Butchers, Inverurie.#
“Despite the changeable weather Keith Whyte from Mitchells dairy was also kept busy with ice cream and strawberries. Patrick from the Kilted Frog also kindly donated his time and effort in providing a crepes stall which was very popular and helped towards the overall total for the event of £1,960.
“This is a great boost to our funds.”
