A music school in Ellon has started its 10th anniversary in style by marking the occasion with a fun day celebration.

Pupils from Skin Deep School of Modern Music entertained a packed crowd of around 250 people at the town’s Station Hotel on Sunday.

Ian and Jayne Brown and the tutors at Skin Deep would like to thank everyone for their support.

Jayne said: “We would like to say a big thank you to all of our pupils and parents, friends and crew who have supported our fun day and who have helped us over the last ten years.

“Without them all, the day would not have been so successful!

Ian and Jayne, originally from Fraserburgh, moved to Ellon six years ago to be closer to their business and haven’t looked back since.

The school has built up a wide range of pupils over the years with some travelling just down the road for their lessons and others coming in from slightly further afield.

Speaking after the event, Jayne said: “It was a great success - pupils who performed were from the age of 6 up to 60.

“Their talent is amazing - Ellon and the surrounding areas should all be very proud of their achievements.

“A big thank you to Dorothy and the staff at the Station Hotel for all their support over the past ten years.

“We would also like to thank Ivor and Gaz from Sound Hire Scotland who travel up from Blairgowrie each year to give us a great sound - without their support it would not be possible.

“And, of course, a thank you to everyone who donated raffles.”Tutors John Mathers, Matthew Bearne and Andrew Lindsay have came from musical backgrounds or studied music at Aberdeen University.

The hard work completed by the staff has also not gone unnoticed.

Jayne added: “We would like to thank all the crew who have worked behind the scenes for the past ten years.

“Without their help and dedication we would not have the success we have, as they give up their own time to make the day the success it is.

“You know who you are!”
