A North-east Bed and Breakfast has scooped a top accommodation award recently.
Aikenshill House, near Foveran won The AA Guest Accommodation of the Year for Scotland 2014 after impressing judges with the first class service they provide to guests.
The annual awards, held in London, recognise and praise the services provided by some of top Bed and Breakfasts in the UK and the winners are nominated by the AA’s team of hotel inspectors.
The 100 year old grand property benefited from a full renovation in 2007 and boasts contemporary living combined with traditional touches as well as breath taking views across the Buchan countryside.
Owners, James and Shona Duthie pride themselves on making guests feel right at home as soon as they step through the door.
James said: “Winning this award has given us an immense feeling of achievement. Opening in 2010, with very little experience in hospitality, our goal was to create a five star B&B with a difference.
“Based on our guest’s feedback and winning this award we believe Aikenshill has achieved this.”
Head of AA Hotel Services, Simon Numphud added: “Nothing is too much trouble for owners Jim and Shona, who are passionate about guest care and offer superb standards of hospitality and service and fantastic home cooked breakfasts.
“This B&B is a fantastic example of the very best of Scottish B&B’s.”
