Discount chain Aldi has confirmed that its new supermarket in Inverurie will open for business next week.
Doors will open at 8am on Thursday at the store in the town’s Harlaw Road.
The company has hired 12 members of staff so far, and is targeting a total of 30 jobs with recruitment still on-going.
To celebrate, golden envelopes containing special tickets to win a range of prizes will be handed out to the first one hundred people in the queue on opening day.
Store manager John Riddell said: “We are looking forward to the opening of our new store and we’re sure the local community will enjoy our grand opening celebrations with 100 golden tickets up for grabs.
“We’re expecting to see lots of shoppers on Thursday take advantage of our opening week offers in addition to our range of products at everyday low prices.”
Aldi will also be hosting several of its Scottish suppliers in the new store on the following two days, with samples of products for customers to try.
The supermarket will have 128 car parking spaces and will feature around 1,350 product lines. It will be open from 8am until 9pm from Monday to Saturday, and 10am until 7pm on Sunday.
