An Aberdeenshire farm shop has shown their support for farmers hit by flooding in England.

The Store, based in Foveran, recently raised £660 at the Thainstone Mart’s weekly sale by selling forage from the farm.

Andrew Booth, owner of The Store, is donating the money to the Farming Community Network (FCN) which offer practical support to those in the farming industry during times of anxiety, stress and problems relating to the farm household and business.

After Mr Booth watched television footage of some of the severe flooding in the South of the country he was inspired to do something to help those affected.

Mr Booth said: “As we are too far away to supply any real manpower for the farmers, I thought it would be a good idea to show my support in another useful way.

“The farmers are facing terrible conditions everyday, which is affecting their livestock, homes and businesses, so I feel it is vital to help out wherever possible, and hopefully others will follow suit.”
