In the lead up to their 2015 Italian tour, musicians from Inverurie Academy will entertain locals and cast members from ITV’s Emmerdale as part of a high-profile charity event at Thainstone House Hotel, Inverurie this Saturday, June 14.
The massive charity event is in aid of the Wobbly Williams Parkinson charity, and promises to be an event full of and mayhem, which will also see the Emmerdale cast participate in crazy activities including Haggis Hurling.
Inverurie Academy will welcome guests to the event with performances from their varied groups, including their Concert Band and Highland Dancers, one of many rehearsals in the count down to Italy. As part of the charitable Crerar Hotels Trust, Thainstone House donated £12,000 to help send Inverurie Academy’s musicians to Italy next year. To celebrate, the Academy will showcase their talents at Thainstone House on Saturday and again in August for a special summer event at the hotel.
Inverurie Academy Rector Linda Evans said Crerar Hotels Trust’s donation has helped significantly subsidise the cost for parents and ensures as many as 48 performers are able to join the tour to Lake Garda, Italy in June 2015, “Inverurie Academy is proud to have such talented and musically able pupils. We encourage and nurture their talent as we believe in the substantial benefits gained from participating in music education.”
Crerar Hotels Trust Chairman and Chief Executive of Crerar Hotel Group Paddy Crerar said the trust is thrilled to support these young musicians on their musical endeavours, as well as hosting the Emmerdale fundraising event.
“The commitment these musicians have in developing their musical skills is marvellous and it is a privilege to be able to support them with funding toward their 2015 Italian tour.”
