School gets set for Golden Jubilee year
ELLON Primary School opened its doors this week to a theatre company, who are set to help the school mark its 50th anniversary with a spectacular parade through the town.
Martin Danziger and Joanne Findlay of the Modo Theatre Company joined pupils in the school hall, as they passed on circus skills which the children hope to demonstrate at the community celebration which is being planned for mid-June.
Pupils spent part of the afternoon learning how to juggle and how to spin plastic plates just like professional circus performers.
The school intends for its jubilee celebrations to have an inter-generational element, which will involve children finding out about life in Ellon, Scotland and the wider world in the 1960’s. A range of learning activities are being planned for the children, which will take place in the summer term leading up to the Jubilee.
“We’re thrilled to work with Theatre Modo”, said Head Teacher Veronica Cordiner. “We hope they’ll bring an exciting element to our Golden Jubilee celebrations.”
