Thanks to Ellon Ladies’ Circle from local charity
AN ELLON-BASED charity have publicly thanked members of the town’s Ladies’ Circle, after receiving a £742 donation from the group.
Jonathan and Anna Cordiner, who administer Kayleigh’s Wee Stars, accepted the cheque on Tuesday, February 12 in a formal handover at the Tolbooth.
The money had been raised late last year at a special ‘Shopping Extravaganza’ event hosted by the Ladies Circle at the Station Hotel. Visitors enjoyed stalls from local businesses, as well as reiki and spiritual reading sessions, fudge sales and a raffle, with donations going to a worthy cause.
Kayleigh’s Wee Stars operates in memory of Jonathan and Anna’s daughter Kayleigh who passed away due to a brain tunour in January, 2012. The charity offers advice and financial support to the parents of terminally ill children.
Anna said afterwards: “A massive thank you to everyone who has been involved in organising this event. We both appreciate the efforts made and it means so much to us that the Ladies’ Cricle chose to support us.”
Jonathan added that the charity has over £70,000 worth of funds following the donation.
