AN ELLON hair salon is set ot make a fantastic £1000 donation to Children in Need - after a sponsored row-a-thon in the shop.

The ladies at Cinnamon Fringe had pledged to collectively row the distance between Aberdeen and Shetland on two rowing machines specially set up in the shop.

Manageress Sunnita Pottinger told the Times: “Through the generosity of our customers we have managed to raise over £1000 for Children in Need on our row-a-thon (the money is still being donated so we don’t have a final figure yet). To make the task actually possible, we had a cross trainer and an exercise bike in addition to two rowing machines to cover the miles. It still took until 10pm on Saturday night to get there, but we had a few visitors on the way which helped entertain us when we were flagging!

“We’d like to say thank you to everyone who so kindly sponsored us and a special thank you to Belinda Kennedy who did impromptu massages on weary shoulders.”
