A GROUP of Pitmedden residents have been recognised for their hard work in the village by special tickets to the Pitmedden Community Music Festival.

Representatives of the Pitmedden First Responders, Wood Recyclability and Mainly Music were presented the tickets to the event, which is set to be held this Friday and Saturday.

The First Responders provide first aid coverage to the local area, Wood Recyclability provide sustainable employment to people with disabilities, and Mostly Music host community sessions at the local church for families.

Spokesman for Udny Community Council Garth Entwistle told the Times that the award was a chance for the local community to show its appreciation to those whose activities made Pitmedden and Udny a great place to live.

“These people are local heroes who make real contributions to the community, and this is a chance to recognise that contribution,” he said.

The Community Music Festival is earmarked to become an annual event, and will feature a range of music from local bands. Tickets are on sale now -phone 01651 843412 for information.
