McDonald Park Friends to plant trees

THE Friends of McDonald Park have announced a special event for community-minded Ellonians to participate in.

The group, who look after the McDonald Park and Woodlands, are inviting the people of Ellon to take part in a community tree planting day on Sunday, November 25, weather permitting.

The Woodland Trust has generously donated 420 saplings of native trees, which are to be planted in the McDonald Park.

Individuals and families can help ensure the future of this valuable green space by taking part, and can have the satisfaction of seeing ‘their trees’ grow in the years to come.

Those wishing to attend should meet at the site of the former Turnishaw Cottage on the main avenue of the park at 9am with a spade.

Suitable footwear and gloves are advisable, and children under 16 years of age should be accompanied by an adult.
