Meldrum House wins best hotel title

Meldrum House Country Hotel and Golf Course won two awards including being named as the Best Hotel in Scotland last week.

The four star hotel located in Oldmeldrum won the prestigious title as the Best Hotel in Scotland at the Best Loved Hotel Awards which took place in Harrogate on Monday, November 23.

Meldrum House then won the title as the Most Hospitable Hotel for the third year in a row at the Aberdeen City and Shire Tourism Awards held at Ardoe House Hotel and Spa on Friday, November 27.

Previously the hotel also won the AA Hotel of the Year 2014/2015 Award.

Speaking about their win in the Best Loved Hotel Awards, Chief executive of Meldrum House, Andy Burgess, said: “We are delighted to win this prestigious award against some stiff competition. 

“It’s testimony to the dedicated effort of the Meldrum House team and we are proud to be amongst the top flight of Scottish hotels.”

Peter Walker, hotel manager, collected the hotel’s award at the awards ceremony on Monday night.

He said: “This award is really an accolade for the entire team at Meldrum House and a great recognition for all our efforts.

“We work hard to ensure that from the moment you step through the door at Meldrum House, guests know they are somewhere special.”

Meldrum House is currently undergoing a multimillion pound extension which is due to be completed in June next year.

The extension will bring the number of bedrooms within the hotel up to 51 and will add a new function suite to the back of the privately owned hotel.
