Meldrum Rotary welcomes new member

The Rotary Club of Oldmeldrum welcomed local schoolteacher Kim Hall to their meeting last week, as she became the latest recruit to the Rotary family.

Kim, who is Depute Rector at Ellon Academy, was introduced to the club by former President Hilary Gordon. Praising her leadership skills and highlighting her role at Ellon Academy in teaching Enterprise and Citizenship to senior pupils, Hilary commended Kim to club members, who welcomed her warmly as a new Rotarian.

The club then heard from guest speaker Liz Johnston, the creator of a series of ‘Treasure Trails’ featuring towns and villages around the North East, including Oldmeldrum. The Treasure Trails, she said - a series of self-guided treasure hunts - offered a ‘fun’ way of exploring a town, city or village, using local landmarks as clues.
