Plans are nearing completion to open a new charity shop in Ellon.
The North East Wildlife and Animal Rescue Centre (known as The New Arc) is behind the project.
All funds raised would be used by the charity to help with the upkeep of the centre itself (maintaining and upgrading buildings, feeding the animals, vet fees).
No opening date has yet been set but an urgent appeal has been made for volunteers and donations.
The plea has been made for men’s, women’s and children’s clothing and shoes, handbags, jewellery, household linen, toys and games, books.
Also needed are DVD’s, CD’s, bric-a-brac, kitchenware, ornaments, unwanted gifts, small items of furniture and small electrical items which are in good working order.
The shop also wants to recruit a volunteer team.
Christopher Parkes, who is looking after stock and volunteers, said: “ No experience is required and because volunteering is entirely flexible we have hours to suit almost everyone.
“If you are over 16 and have a morning or afternoon or even just a couple of hours to spare each week then we would love to hear from you.
“Shop duties involve sorting, preparing and pricing stock as well as helping and serving our customers.”
For further information contact Christopher on 01358 729113, by e-mail email@example.com or call into the shop between 11am and 4pm Monday to Saturday.”
Prior to opening, people can bring donations to the shop between 11am and 4pm Monday to Saturday. For the collection service call Keith on 07962 253 867.
The New Arc was set up in 2006 and is a Scottish registered charity. It is based at Auchnagatt but covers the whole of the north-east.
The centre is on a 10-acre site with facilities for a range of animals from horses to guinea pigs, buzzards to foxes.
It is entirely funded by donations, sponsors and membership.
