TWO sixth year pupils say that they aim to do Ellon Academy proud, after being elected to the joint headship.

Graeme Cox, 6S and Katherine Fraser, 6M will take on the positions after a grueling elections and interviews process, which saw them emerge from 28 potential candidates to take the roles.

Deputy Head Boys have been named as Stephen Collins, 6K and Blair McClymont, 6C while the Deputy Head Girls are Megan Craig, 6F; Hayley Johnson 6C and Anna Thomson, 6.

The new executive team have pledged to focus on raising the school’s profile in the local community, and bringing their S6 together.

Graeme said: “My personal goal is to make the school more visible in the local community, for all the right reasons.”

Katherine added: ”We’ll try to bring our S6 together as much as possible as a group, to make our last year as good as we possibly can.”

Depute Head teacher Kim Hall said: “All candidates gave excellent interviews and it was a very close result. Staff and pupil votes, speeches and interviews were all taken into consideration. Well done to everyone who took part.”
