An Aberdeenshire law firm has raised a five-figure sum for various charities throughout 2013.

During the year, Stronachs LLP staff took part in various fundraising activities in support of the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) policy.

The law firm opted to help local charities including Roxburgh House, Maggie’s and the Willows Animal Sanctuary.

The firm raised money through a Grand National sweep stake, a dress down day and a quiz night.

A charity coin trail was also set up to create a virtual trail of two pence coins from Stronachs’ offices on Albyn Place to Roxburgh House in the city’s Ashgrove area.

Some members took time out and put their trainers on for various runs throughout Aberdneeshire and the Highlands, ranging from the Garioch 10k, Baker Hughes 10k, Moray marathon, Crathes half marathon and the Loch Ness Marathon.

Seven daring staff members, including Stronachs’ partners, Neil Forbes, Bobby McDonald, Malcolm Donald and Colin Sandilands, trainees, Alex Smith and Angus Willis, and marketing manager, Judi Taylor took part in the annual Ride the North cycle challenge which saw them pedal a gruelling 164 miles over two days.
