Over 200 shoeboxes were collected in aid of the shoebox appeal organised by Ellon Baptist Church.

On Saturday, November 22, 208 boxes were packed with toys, stationery, sweets, toiletries, knitwear ready for delivery to Romania as part of Operation Christmas Child.

Since 2009 members Adrian and Margaret Holt have wrapped the boxes throughout the year ahead of an evening of packing in November.

Joint coordinator Sandra Coutie said: “In the early days just over 50 boxes were packed but this has steadily grown to the 208 completed this year. We are really thankful to everyone in the church for their generosity and time.”
