A car parking trial at one of Aberdeenshire’s busiest Easter attractions is to continue.

The Haddo Egg Hunt has been held for more than 15 years and attracts thousands of visitors on Easter Sunday.

After last year’s successful trial, it has been decided to continue the car parking ticket system which limits the number of vehicles entering the site on the day.

All motorists arriving at Haddo on Sunday, April 16, will need to pre-purchase a car park pass and display it on their windscreen. Vehicles without a pass will not be allowed through the gates.

Visitor officer Diana Spencer said: “Last year’s trial of the parking passes worked brilliantly. Everyone got parked safely and quickly in the proper car parks, with no queues at all.

“In other years people have had to wait up to two hours to get parked, so it was a much better day out for everyone.”

Car passes cost £5 and will be available online from visithaddo.com from 11am this Saturday (March 11) with a second batch available from 11am on Saturday, March 18. They can also be bought from the visitor centre this Saturday and Sunday, and on Saturday 18th between noon and 4pm.
