Community councillors urge residents to head along to Ellon hustings

ELLON’S Community Councillors are urging residents to come along and put politicians on the spot - at a special hustings organised for candidates in next month’s local elections.

The event, which takes place at the Victoria Hall on April 29, will offer Ellon residents a chance to grill potential councillors on local matters of importance.

Community Councillor Mark Grant, who is spearheading the event, told the Times that the events at previous elections had attracted good turnouts, and that members of the public should take the opportunity to ask difficult questions.

“Hustings in Ellon have traditionally drew a good crowd, and we’re hoping that this will be the case this time,2 he said.

At present, all candidates for Ellon and District have confirmed that they will be present with the exception of Conservative Cllr Gillian Owen, who is unable to attend.

The event takes place on April 29 at the Victoria Hall on Station Road, Ellon. between 3 and 5pm. All are welcome to attend.
