Site visit to Trump car park

COUNCILLORS will make a late-night visit to the car park which serves the Trump International Golf Links golf course before making a decision on a retrospective application for its construction.

The car park, which has already been built, did not comply with original planning permission given for the development, and drew four objections.

A report before the Formartine Area Committee on Tuesday said that while the constructed car park is ‘not as attractive’ as the previously-approved design, it is not considered inappropriate for the site.

Committee chairman Councillor Rob Merson called for the further site visit to allow the committee to see for themselves how the car park differed from the original planning permission, and in particular the installed lighting scheme. The application has been recommended for approval by planners.
