Residents in Potteron have voiced concern over a sudden road closure in the village.
Mid-Formartine Councillor Paul Johnston said he had taken up complaints by householders over the unexpected shutting of Panmure Gardens, which had led to confusion and anger among local people due to a lack of notice.
He added: “I was contacted by residents and it appears a housing developer’s contractor JKR Ltd, had sought permission to close Panmure Gardens for sewage works but has failed to put up proper notices and warn residents.
“The Roads service got the complaints and has instructed the contractor to put up notices.
“I have asked notices about diverted buses and school buses be erected as the work will carry on for two weeks to do local sewer connections.
“It will disrupt buses on the 291 route.”
Councillor Johnston said that the road is fully closed with access only for householders, because deep trenches are needed.
