A POTTERTON mother-of-four has become an inspiration to all budding adult learners’ by winning a coveted national award at Scotland’s Leading Partnership Adult Learners’ Week Awards.

Wendy Milne-Emslie beat off adult learners up and down the country to come out on top at the ceremony held in Glasgow.

Wendy from Potterton, Aberdeenshire, studies HND Photography at the College and made the decision to go back into education after nearly a decade of full-time work and motherhood.

She said: “With every negative there’s a positive, and after my husband Lea was made redundant, his decision to become a stay at home dad enabled me to return to College, along with part-time work and being a mum. I would recommend anyone who is scared to go back to College to do it, no matter what obstacles you face.

“There’s something for everyone, and if it wasn’t for the great support provided to me by my lecturers and my family there is no way I would have won this award.“
