Project to study life through a lens

Volunteers are being sought to help with an exciting new community project for the Formartine area.

Launching this autumn, the project will see participants making use of photography and image making, as a means of highlighting the social exclusion which some face in the area.

The project, which will be based in Ellon, will allow participants to explore and reflect on barriers to participation in day-to-day activities such as socialising, leisure, learning, working and shopping.

Led by the local Community Planning Partnership, local people are being invited to become involved, either by donating digital photographic equipment or through supporting groups to develop their photography skills.

Donations of cameras, along with their cables and relevant software, can be handed in to project organisers through the Ellon Community Centre office on Schoolhill Road. Anyone interested in becoming involved in the project as a volunteer should contact either Nicola Twine, Senior Community Learning and Development Worker by email nicola.twine@aberdeenshire.gov.uk or phone 01358 721946.

Anyone interested in being a participant or in finding out more about the project should contact Community Planning Officer Mark Mitchell by email mark.mitchell@aberdeenshire.gov.uk or phone 01358 726406.
