A LOCAL restauranteur is getting set for the trek of a lifetime, as he ventures into the Andes for charity.

James Forbes, who manages the Cock and Bull near Balmedie, will tackle the Inca Trail to raise money for charity ‘Children Today’, who supply specialised equipment for disabled children. Speaking to the Times, he said that he was looking forward to the challenge of reaching the mountain city of Machu Picchu.

“I’ve run the Edinburgh marathon, the New York Marathon twice and a 110k run along the Great Wall of China, but this will be something new,” he said.

James appealed for further sponsorship, on top of donations he has received from the Cock and Bull. Anyone wishing to sponsor him can do so at www.justgiving.com/The-Cock-and-Bull-Restaurant.
