Rotarians’ tool collection for Africa

Ellon Rotarians are holding their annual collection of tools and other implements to be sent to communities in Africa.

Events will take place in Neil Ross Square on Saturday, March 19, and Saturday, April 16, from 10am until 1pm.

All tools and sewing machines will be accepted.

They are sent to the Rudolph Steiner School at Camphill in Aberdeen for refurbishment before being transported to Africa.

They will go to Ghana, Malawi, Sierra Leone, Tanzania, Uganda and Zimbabwe.

Ellon Rotary spokesman Doug Winchester said: “It’s a great example of Rotary working locally and internationally.”
